Steven was born in 1682 in Haaften and his baptism took place there on August 27th, 1682.1   His godfather was Gompert Stevenszn and his godmother was Egbertien Barentsdr. Steven's father was Gompert Egbertszn Blomhert and his mother was Maria Koenen.  His paternal grandparents were Egbert Janszn Blomhert and Heesken Gomperts N.N.. He had eight brothers and a sister, named Egbert, Egbert, Egbert, Coenraedt Gompertszn, Philip Gompertszn, Johannes, Adrianus Gompert Egbertszn, Steven Gompertszn and Heesken.  He was the nineth oldest of the ten children.  He died in 1682 in Haaften.2
