Huijbert was born in 1649 and his baptism took place on October 21st, 1649 in Haaften conducted by Reverend Josias J.S. Spiljardus.1   His godmother was Meriken Huijberts (huisvrouw van Peter Aertszn). Huijbert's father was Steven Alertszn Blomhert and his mother was Jenneken Huijbertsdr.  His paternal grandfather was Alert Stevenszn Blomhert and his paternal grandmother is N.N. N.N.. He had two brothers and eight sisters, named Alert Stevenszn, Gompert Stevenszn, Hilleken, Geertke, Huijbertken, Geertke, Huijbertie, Anneken, Maria and Eelken.  He was the seventh oldest of the eleven children.
