George Stephen Whitehead

George Stephen was born on October 7th, 1854 in Port Elizabeth. George Stephen's father was George Whitehead and his mother was Charlotte Parkin. His paternal grandparents were George Whitehead and Anne Mary Unknown (Whitehead); his maternal grandparents were John Parkin and Elizabeth Howard. He had five brothers and six sisters, named George, John William, Frederick, Alfred Isaac, Sydney, Ann Mary, Elizabeth, Mary Jane, Charlotte, Amelia and Cora Franciska. He was the fifth oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 88 on September 19th, 1943.
