George was born on July 1st, 1819 in Kent, England.  George's father was George Whitehead and his mother was Anne Mary Unknown (Whitehead). He had a brother named Stephen.  He was the younger of the two children.  He died at the age of 72 on June 4th, 1892 in Port Elizabeth.
