Sarah was born in 1725 in Hawkhurst, England and her baptism took place there on May 5th, 1725.  Sarah's father was John Austen and her mother was Ann Pearce.  Her paternal grandparents were David Austen and Ann Unknown. She had a brother and a sister, named Samuel and Elizabeth.  She was the second oldest of the three children.
