Mary was born in 1689 in Hawkhurst, England and her baptism took place on September 24th, 1689.  Mary's father was David Austen and her mother was Ann Unknown. She had two brothers and two sisters, named David, John, Ann and Martha.  She was the second oldest of the five children.
