Rowland Oliver Withers 
Rowland was born on December 6th, 1925. Rowland's father was Rowland Withers and his mother was Neva Theresa Wilson. His paternal grandparents were James Withers and Mrs Alice Emma Walters (Withers); his maternal grandparents were Mr Lerve Wilson and Addie Wilson. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Gerald, William , Ruth, Geraldine, Marjorie and Francis. He died from cancer at the age of 83 on January 25th, 2009 in Moravia, New York. The funeral took place on January 30th, 2009 in Auburn, New York and was arranged by Plis. He was buried on January 30th, 2009 in Auburn, New York.- General Notes
- Roland Withers, Jr. was a native of Auburn, residing in Moravia for the past 50 years. He was a retired employee of ALCO. He raised Arabian Horses and pigeons for show, taking them all over the Northeast. Survivors: his wife, Sophie Czornij Withers; three daughters, Susan (David) Canavan of Birch Tree, Missouri, Joanne Withers of Moravia, and Barbara (Richard) Bell of Throop; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, William Withers; sister, Geraldine Churney, of Auburn; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a grandson, Roland "Buddy" Bell; two sisters and a brother. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Plis Funeral Home. Burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 220 State St., Auburn. Contributions to Hospice of the Finger Lakes.
