George Robert Withers

George was born in 1861.  George's father was Mr George Withers and his mother was Mrs Eliza Ellis.  His paternal grandparents were Mr James Withers and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were Mr William Ellis and <Unknown>. He had two brothers and four sisters, named James, Charles, Mary, Emily, Sarah and Eliza.  He was the youngest of the seven children.

  • George Robert WITHERS marriedSusan Mary TREGELLAS (born c1869, Blagdon, Somerset); 3rd quarter 1888, Axbridge. George's exact birth-record has not yet been found, although searches have been done through 1860 to 1864. There is no sign of the couple in the 1891 census, as far as I can tell. The 1901 census shows George living in Yatton, with wife and children; his trade as a carpenter. The 1911 census indicates that a third child had been born, but died.
