Eliza was born in 1852.  Eliza's father was Mr George Withers and her mother was Mrs Eliza Ellis.  Her paternal grandparents were Mr James Withers and <Unknown>; her maternal grandparents were Mr William Ellis and <Unknown>. She had three brothers and three sisters, named James, Charles, George, Mary, Emily and Sarah.  She was the second youngest of the seven children.
