Jane was born in 1789 in Whitehaven, Cumberland and her christening took place on September 20th, 1789 in St Nicholas, Whitehaven, Cumberland.1 2   Jane's father was Edward Quirk and her mother was Isabella.  Her paternal grandparents were James Quirk and ?Margaret. She had four brothers and a sister, named Edward, James, William, Thomas and Catherine.  She died at the age of 1 on May 4th, 1790 in Whitehaven, Cumberland.3
