Edward was born in 1775 in Whitehaven, Cumberland.1   Edward's father was Edward Quirk and his mother was Isabella.  His paternal grandparents were James Quirk and ?Margaret. He had three brothers and two sisters, named James, William, Thomas, Catherine and Jane.  He died at the age of 70 in 1845.1
