Dora was born on February 25th, 1882 in 16 Sefton Road, Walton, Lancashire and her christening took place on September 13th, 1882 in Saint Peter, Liverpool, Lancashire.1 2  Dora's father was Edward Quirk and her mother was Mary Flinn.  Her paternal grandparents were William Quirk and Elizabeth Pendergrass. She had a brother and five sisters, named Edward, Margaret, Annie, Elizabeth, Isabella and Mary.  She was the youngest of the seven children.  She died from a heart attack, Congestive cardiac failure, at the age of 88 on March 14th, 1970 in St Catherine's Hospital Annexe, Birkenhead.3
