Margaret was born on February 8th, 1812 in South Shields, Durham and her christening took place on December 31st, 1812 in St Hilda, South Shields, Durham.1  Margaret's father was Thomas Norman and her mother was Mary Hogg.  Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Hogg and Ursula Potts. She had two brothers and a sister, named Thomas, Robert and Cecilia.  She was the second youngest of the four children.  She died at the age of 46 in March 1858 in Southampton, Hampshire.2
