Caroline was born on October 12th, 1810 in Stepney, Middlesex and her christening took place on December 2nd, 1810 in St Botolph Without Aldgate, London.1 2   Caroline's father was John Horncastle and her mother was Sophia Chaming.  Her paternal grandparents were William Horncastle and Sarah. She had a brother and a sister, named John and Sophia.  She was the youngest of the three children.
