Hannah was born in 1668 in Thaxted, Essex and her christening took place on February 16th, 1668 in Thaxted Parish Church, Essex.1 2  Hannah's father was John Hockley and her mother was Isabell Dallyson.  Her paternal grandparents were William Hockley and Mary Badcock. She had five brothers and four sisters, named John, William, Edward, William, Daniel, Isabell, Mary, Rebecca and Sarah.  She was the youngest of the ten children.
