Anne was born in 1739 in Millbrook, Southampton, Hampshire and her christening took place there on January 5th, 1739.1 2   Anne's father was Thomas Gannaway and her mother was Mary. She had four brothers named John, George, James and Thomas.  She was the second oldest of the five children.
