Matthew was born in 1713 in Bower Chalk, Wiltshire and his christening took place there in 1713.1 2   Matthew's father was Allen Frampton and his mother was Jane. He had four brothers and a sister, named Allen, Henry, Richard, John and Jane.  He was the second youngest of the six children.
