Allen was born in 1702 in Bower Chalk, Wiltshire and his christening took place there on March 21st, 1702.1 2   Allen's father was Allen Frampton and his mother was Jane. He had four brothers and a sister, named Henry, Richard, Matthew, John and Jane.  He was the oldest of the six children.
