Thomas was born in 1846 in Bethnal Green, Middlesex.1   Thomas' father was Thomas Fletcher and his mother was Jane Yardley.  His paternal grandparents were Lot Fletcher and Mary Ann Forbister. He had six brothers and six sisters, named Lot, George, James, Henry, Edward, Charles, Jane, Agnes, Mary, Matilda, Henrietta and Sophia.  He was the oldest of the thirteen children.  He died at the age of 62 in September 1908 in Bethnal Green, Middlesex.2
