Henrietta was born in 1863 in Bethnal Green, Middlesex.1   Henrietta's father was Thomas Fletcher and her mother was Jane Yardley.  Her paternal grandparents were Lot Fletcher and Mary Ann Forbister. She had seven brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, Lot, George, James, Henry, Edward, Charles, Jane, Agnes, Mary, Matilda and Sophia.  She was the fourth youngest of the thirteen children.
