Abraham was born in 1775 in Kimmeridge, Dorset and his christening took place on June 30th, 1775 in Kilkorky, Roscommon, Ireland.1 2   Abraham's father was Thomas Croombes and his mother was Elizabeth Mathews. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Isaac, James, Harriet, Elizabeth and Sarah.  He was the second youngest of the six children.
