Henry was born on November 14th, 1812 in Marylebone, Middlesex and his christening took place on February 6th, 1814 in Saint Mary-St Marylebone Road, Saint Marylebone, Middlesex.1 2   Henry's father was William Banger and his mother was Ann Goff.  His paternal grandparents were Moses Banger and Ann Witt. He had two brothers and two sisters, named James, Charles, Mary and Elizabeth.  He was the second oldest of the five children.
