Mary's father was George JAYES and her mother was Sarah Elizabeth HALLAS. She had six brothers and a sister, named Thomas, James, Herman, John, George, Oscar and Sarah.  She was the fourth oldest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 79 on July 5th, 1961 in Thurrock, Essex.²
