Oscar (ozo)

Oscar, known as ozo, was born on April 4th, 1922 in Buczacz, East Galicia, Austro Hungary, today in Ukraine. Ozo's father was Yehoshua Friedlander and his mother was Perl Ebenstein. His paternal grandparents were Shimon Friedlander and Minzi Mina Freundlich; his maternal grandparents were Hersch Ebenstein and Hodel. He had a brother and a sister, named Ducho and Frida. He was the youngest of the three children. He died at the age of 87 on September 18th, 2009 in Israel. He was buried in Qiryat Shaul.

- I am the Grandson and named after David ( Ducho
  )Friedlander who command
  the Friedlander Group in Buchach and vicinity in the years 1943-1944.
  Ducho's brother Yehoshua ( Oscar ) was also a member of the group.
  The main goal of the group, also known as ""The Jewish Gang"", was to
  survive and help their hiding families to live through this horrible period of time.
  The group used to terrorized and take revenge of collaborators among the
  local population and authorized entities like German and Ukraine police.
