David, known as Ducho, was born in 1914 in Buczacz, East Galicia, Austro Hungary, today in Ukraine.  Ducho's father was Yehoshua Friedlander and his mother was Perl Ebenstein.  His paternal grandparents were Shimon Friedlander and Minzi Mina Freundlich; his maternal grandparents were Hersch Ebenstein and Hodel. He had a brother and a sister, named ozo and Frida.  He was the second oldest of the three children.  He died at the age of 30 in 1944 in Apparently at the village of Medvedevtsy, 2.4 Km east to Buczacz in Ukraine.
