Thomas was born on September 3rd, 1811 in Welton with Melton East Yorkshire and his baptism took place on September 29th, 1811 in Welton East Yorkshire.1 2   Thomas' father was Thomas Garton and his mother was Phebe Wilson.  His paternal grandparents are Robert Garton and Rebecca Fox. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Robert, William, Ebenezer, Ebenezer, Rebecca, Mary and Mary.  He died at the age of 7 on August 14th, 1819 in Welton East Yorkshire Age 8.2
