Fred was born on January 29th, 1865 in Brightlingsea Essex.¹ Fred's father was Thomas (Shipbuilder) Harvey and his mother was Sophia Griggs. His paternal grandparents were Robert Harvey and Susannah Ellingford. He had six half-brothers and a half-sister, named Thomas, Halifax yard ipswich, Joseph, Edward, John, Shipwrights Arms West St and Caroline. He died at the age of 73 on February 1st, 1938 in Charlton London.²
