John was born in November 1824 in Barking Essex and his christening took place on December 2nd, 1824 at St Margaret's  Church Barking.1   John's father was Andrew Quash (pos born Exeter) and his mother was Elizabeth Hall.  His maternal grandparents were John Hall and Ann. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Andrew, William, Ann, Martha, Eliza, Susanna and Emma.  He was the second youngest of the eight children. He had a half-sister named Elizabeth.  He died at the age of 78 on November 29th, 1902 in Nothbury House Barking Essex.
