Charles was born in 1817 in Maidstone Kent.1   Charles' father was Charles Piper (Blacksmith b Maidstone Kent) and his mother was Hannah Colvin.  His paternal grandparents are John Piper and Mary. He had a sister named Mary.  He was the older of the two children.  He died about 1871.
