Joseph was born in April 1789 in Barking Essex and his christening took place on May 6th, 1789 at St Margaret's  Church Barking.1   Joseph's father was Joseph Frogley (Fisherman/Publican) and his mother was Elizabeth Moungall.  His paternal grandparents were Joseph of Lamberth Frogley and Jane Wells; his maternal grandparents are Nicholas Moungall and Susannah. He had two brothers and two sisters, named John, Nicholas, Jane and Elizabeth.  He was the oldest of the five children.  He died at the age of 75 in 1864.

Joseph and ANN were married in a religious ceremony on March 28th, 1815 at St Margaret's  Church Barking.2
