Robert was born about 1892 in Gt Bardfield Essex. Robert 's father was Alexander Amos (coachsmith&Builders) and his mother was Maria Goodman (b Buslington Bristol Glou). His paternal grandparents were William of Coggeshall Amos (Silk Weaver) and Susannah Crisell (Hand Loom Weaver Silk b Gt Cornard). He had a brother and three sisters, named Sidney, Alice, Caroline and Kate. He was the third oldest of the five children.
