Florence was born about 1885 in Braintree Essex. Florence's father was Benjamin Amos (Grocer b Braintree) and her mother was Alice Mary Lovesey (b Bloomsbury). Her paternal grandparents were William of Coggeshall Amos (Silk Weaver) and Susannah Crisell (Hand Loom Weaver Silk b Gt Cornard). She had a brother and a sister, named Benjamin and Jessie. She was the oldest of the three children.
