Robert Brown Gray
Robert Brown was born in 1858.
Birth Notes
Date of Birth source: 1901 census. He would NOT have been in Macosquin Presbyterian Church Recs cause they are missing from 1861 to 1865 inclusive. Gives his age as 53 in 1911 census = Date of Birth of 1858. This may be more accurate as it is post Old Age Pensions when you had to be 70 to get it.
He died at the age of 77 on August 28th, 1935.
Death Notes
He may have died before 1919 when his tenancy of house 5Ac is ended BUT, Jim Gray remembers him when he "was at sabbath school" and Jim was not born til 1920. Perhaps he moved in with his brother, James Gray, next door in house 5Ad.
This must be him:

Death Notes
Probably dead when his wife, Hannah Elizabeth Gray took over tenancy of the house in 1926.
The death of a James Gray, aged 59 in 1922 (= DoB of 1863) is recorded in Coleraine in Civil Deaths which might be this man.
William Gray
William was born in 1861.
Birth Notes
Date of Birth given as 1861 on marriage certificate when he said he was 21 in 1882. Date of Birth given as 1864 in 1901 census and 1862 in the 1911 census.
He died at the age of 86 on February 17th, 1947.
Death Notes
Date of death given as 12th Feb on gravestone but 17th Feb in Coleraine Chronicle death notice!! Buried in the old graveyard of Englishtown Presbyterian Church (between Coleraine and Garvagh, 4 miles from Coleraine), along with wife Ann Brewster, daughter Tilly, Tilly's husband George Neilly and "twin son died in infancy".

Birth Notes
First of this family to appear in the Communicants Roll Book (in 1874), suggesting she was the eldest and probably born soon after her parents married in 1853. (Wrong!) Date of Birth found in International Genealogical Index, registered in Aghadowey. Date confirmed by birth entry seen at Derry Family History Centre.
Civil Birth confirmed on IFHF, the child of James Gray and Eliza Jane Brown.

Margaret Gray
Margaret was born in 1868.
Birth Notes
Date of Birth: Macosquin Presbyterian Church records birth NOT baptism record. I can NOT find any such birth in the Derry Family History Centre birth registers for 1869 or 1870. This is odd. It seems to suggest that the entry in Macosquin Presbyterian Church is either an error or it IS a baptism not a birth.
Civil Birth NOT shown on IFHF, the child of James Gray and Eliza Brown in 1869.
Death Notes
Barbara Braswell, using Family History Centre Death Index, says, "Found the death of Margaret Gray, also, in 1872, aged 4 years. 6:348." However, the Death certificate shows it is unlikely to be her as she died in the workhouse as the daughter of a servant.
Margaret Gray
Margaret was born on July 15th, 1868.

Death Notes
This one must have died in infancy because another Margaret is recorded in Macosquin Presbyterian Church records as being born to the same couple in 1869. Death certificate found in Family History Centre, Derry, for a Margaret Ann Gray, died 21st April 1869, aged 9 weeks, Seamstress' daughter, Bronchitis for 2 weeks, Susan Robinson Present at Death. Not sure if this is her because of the strange PAD, the wrong townland and the age of 9 weeks instead of 9 months.
Hester Gray
Hester was born on June 25th, 1872.
Birth Notes
Barbara Braswell says, "Hester Gray, born 25 June 1872 to James Gray and Eliza Jane Brown, Registered in Aughadowey, Derry, Ireland - Civil Registration (no page number given on this one)"
Civil Birth confirmed on IFHF, the child of James Gray and Eliza Jane Brown.

She died at just 23 days old on July 18th, 1872.
Death Notes
Barbara Braswell, using Family History Centre Death Index says, "Found the death of Hester Gray in 1872, aged 0. This was the year she was born. [11:334.]" Acquired death record from Dublin confirming same. She was 23 days old and died of bronchitis after a week's illness. Oddly, a Margaret Moony from Ballytagart was Present at Death. This may be an aunt because her mother was from Ballintaggart.
Samuel Gray
Samuel was born on September 9th, 1873.

Date of Birth: Macosquin Presbyterian Church records. International Genealogical Index has his birth as 20th October 1873.

Date of Death - Barbara Braswell using Civil Records - Samuel Gray, died 1893, aged 20, Coleriane Reg Dist, Vol 1, page 346. This was NOT him - father was a John Gray and both came from Brook Street!
