Source: his marriage certificate gives him as the son of an Andrew Boyd, and the EPPI papers show thast he was educated at Collins.
BB+BG research, much of it using the EPPI Papers online:
Gage Boyd b. 1838, possibly in Collins (Source: 1855 Education Commission Report makes him 18 and educated at Collins National School, which means he may well be from Collins.)
Entered Coleraine Model School on Feb 1, 1853, when
18 and trained for one year.
1860 Education Commission Report has him leaving the Coleraine Model School in Feb 1854, after a year there, and going first to Letterloan School, then Garvagh.
Feb 21, 1862 married Mary King at Myroe PC, Tamlaght Finlagan.
Appears in Lismoyle, Tamlaght O'Crilly in the 1901 Census.
Nov 26, 1913 died at Lismoyle, age 81. Buried at Kilrea Parish Church with wife who died in Sept 14, 1914, age 84 and a daughter. Bearing in mind LG's contention that a Boyd family was from Lismoyle and Collins, what is the significance of Gage being born in Collins and dying in Lismoyle?
