James' father was Peter Wood and his mother was Janet Turner.  His maternal grandparents were James Turner and Jane White. He had two brothers and a sister, named John, James and Jean.  He was the youngest of the four children.  He died at the age of 67 on May 16th, 1917 in Whitburn.^2 3
