Jessie's father was John Wilson and her mother was Jessie Mcwilliam. Her paternal grandparents were John Wilson and Margaret Rennie. She had five brothers and two sisters, named John, James, Alexander, William, George, Ann and Maggie. She was the youngest of the eight children. She died at the age of 90 in 1972 in Portsoy.
