Mary's father was William Willock and her mother was Agnes McLatchie. Her maternal grandparents were William McLatchie and Janet Dalzell. She had four brothers and two sisters, named William, William, George, Hugh, Janet and Agnes. She was the second oldest of the seven children. She died at the age of 74 in 1928 in Leeds. She was buried in Leeds.
