Selina's father was Robert Wason and her mother was Mary Helen Tunnycliffe Higgins. Her paternal grandparents were William Wason and Susan Flinn. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Hugh, Andrew, Robert, Susan and Wason. She was the second youngest of the six children. She died on November 8th, 1909 in Philadelphia.
