Andrew's father was Robert Wason and his mother was Mary Helen Tunnycliffe Higgins. His paternal grandparents were William Wason and Susan Flinn. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Hugh, Robert, Susan, Selina and Wason. He was the third oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 67 on January 26th, 1969. He was buried in Florida.
