Agnes was born in 1820 in Bathgate.1  Agnes' father was John Turner and her mother was Janet Marshall.  Her paternal grandparents were William Turner and Jean Russell. She had five brothers and a sister, named William, John, Peter, James, Richard and Mary.  She was the second youngest of the seven children.  She died whilst giving birth at the age of 31 in 1851 in Strathblane.2
