James Taylor

James was born on January 20th, 1840 in Ayr and his baptism took place on March 15th, 1840 in St. Quivox.^1 2

James' father was James Taylor and his mother was Janet Ewing.  His paternal grandparents were Andrew Taylor and Ann Scoffield. He had three brothers and a sister, named Andrew, William, David and Janet.  He was the third oldest of the five children.  He died at the age of 35 on July 20th, 1875 in Riccarton.
