Thomas, known as Tom, was born on October 28th, 1876 in Paisley.1 2  Tom's father was Archibald Steven and his mother was Ann Towers.  His maternal grandparents were Michael Towers and Janet Mathie. He had five brothers and three sisters, named William, Archibald, Michael, James, James, Janet, Agnes and Maggie.  He was the fifth oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 90 on October 16th, 1967 in Glasgow.  He was buried in Paisley.1 3
