Matthew James Steen

Matthew was born on February 15th, 1872 in Raphoe.^1 2   Matthew's father was Matthew Steen and his mother was Margaret Devenny.  His paternal grandparents were Matthew Josiah Steen and Marjory Devinney; his maternal grandparents were Samuel Devenny and <Unknown>. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Joseph, Samuel, Rebecca, Jane, Margaret and Mary.  He was the third oldest of the seven children.  He died due to a medical problem, tuberculosis, 1 year, at the age of 43 on October 16th, 1915 in Dromore townland.  He was buried in Raphoe.^3 4
