Mary Steen

Mary was born on October 23rd, 1879 in Taughboyne.¹   Mary's father was Matthew Steen and her mother was Margaret Devenny.  Her paternal grandparents were Matthew Josiah Steen and Marjory Devinney; her maternal grandparents were Samuel Devenny and <Unknown>. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Joseph, Matthew, Samuel, Rebecca, Jane and Margaret.  She was the youngest of the seven children.  She died due to a medical problem, Imbercle of Bowels: Diarrhoea + asthenia, 3 months, at the age of 26 on February 9th, 1906 in Taughboyne.  The funeral took place on February 12th, 1906.  She was buried in Raphoe.^2 3 4
