Janet's father was Ebenezer Milner MD and her mother was Robina Culbertson Brash.  Her maternal grandparents were David Brash and Agnes Henderson. She had a brother and two sisters, named Ebenezer, Agnes and Elizabeth.  She was the second oldest of the four children.  She died at the age of 80 in 1936 in Burntisland.
