Agnes' father was Robert McPike and her mother was Elizabeth Robertson. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Morrison McPike and Agnes McTaggart Mcclelland; her maternal grandparents were John Robertson and Agnes Gourlay. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Robert, John, Richard, Jeanie, Rachel and Marion. She was the youngest of the seven children. She died at the age of 29 in 1937 in Ayr.
