Anne's father was David McMurran and her mother was Allison McClymont.  Her paternal grandparents were Jonathon McMurren and Susan McAllan. She had three brothers and two sisters, named William, William, Jonathan, Susanah and Elisabeth.  She was the oldest of the six children.  She died at the age of 74 in 1918 in Old Kilpatrick.
