Margaret's father was Michael McLuckie and her mother was Margaret Heaps. Her paternal grandparents were John McLuckie and Margaret Elizabeth Henderson. She had two brothers and two sisters, named John, John, Isabella and Margaret. She was the second oldest of the five children. She died at the age of 64 in 1936 in Stirling.
