Michael's father was John McLuckie and his mother was Margaret Elizabeth Henderson. His maternal grandparents were James Henderson and Jean Aitken. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Alexander, James, John, James, Thomas, Jean, Mary and Margaret. He was the youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 75 on December 12th, 1921 in Polmont.
