Isabella's father was Michael McLuckie and her mother was Margaret Heaps. Her paternal grandparents were John McLuckie and Margaret Elizabeth Henderson. She had two brothers and two sisters, named John, John, Margaret and Margaret. She was the third oldest of the five children. She died at the age of 24 in 1898 in Govan.
